1.Tata Group was Founded in 1868 by Jamshedji Tata.

3.Jamshedji Tata founded the company with Tata Mill in Late 1870s in Tata. The company now has existed for over 150 years . With 6 chairpersons over the span of 150 years, among them JRD Tata(1938 – 1991) having longest span is known for the famous airline now, Air India and his successor Ratan Tata(1991 – 2012 and 2016-17) who grew the company worth $100Billion. Company is currently run by Natarajan Chandrasekaran(2017-present).
4.Tata Group gain global recognition when in 2000, it bought Tetley Tea for $450million which was largest overseas acquisitions by an Indian company at that time.
5.Tata Motors was facing huge lose in 1998 and in 1999 decided to sell Tata’s car business to Ford, but the deal couldn’t take place and it is said Ratan Tata was humiliated for not knowing enough about the car business and just few years later in 2008, Tata bought Ford’s Jaguar and Land Rover and Ford chairperson thanked Ratan Tata!
