Tasteless food in mess, inedible food in pg, not enough skill or money or unavailability of equipment to cook and unhygienic food all around take a real troll on our health. So, presented below are some of the food items you can cook easily and look after your health.
Poha indeed is the simplest thing to cook, is healthy and takes maximum 5 minutes to cook. So, ditch those unhealthy noodles and start eating poha. Take a little oil in a Kadai/pan. Brown off the onions and add tomato if you like. Add pinch of chili, turmeric and salt. Wash the pohas and add in the kadai. Mix well. And poha is ready.
Consumption of milk is utmost necessary at this age and almost every student neglect it. Cornflakes or oats not only fulfill the requirement of milk, but also a substitute of breakfast and even evening snacks. Warm a glass of milk and take it off from the stove and pour handful of cornflakes and sugar in it and when cooking oats pour oats with milk and boil it for 2 minutes on the stove only.
Rice is one of the simplest food to cook. It takes 10 minutes to cook, is healthy and also when can be easily stored. Making rice is simple. Add twice the amount of water as the rice and take about half a bowl which would be enough for about 2 plates. It is often better to cook simple boiled rice and then fry it with onion, tomato, salt and chilling in a pan for longer storage.You can even use it to make kheer by adding sugar and milk and letting it cooked for 7-10 minutes.
Always boil 4-5 potatoes at once as they can be used multiple times in a day and could last upto good 3-4 days. In a vessel add water around 3 glass with potatoes and it would be boiled in 10-15 minutes. Boiled potatoes can be used a fries, or in and with chapatti and a great source of carbohydrates too!
