Complete guide to placement procedure in Infosys

This article is in continuation to ‘Career Opportunities in IT companies for Engineers, Delhi-NCR’. Where we first analyze the background of Infosys , its placement procedure and how to prepare for it.

1.Background of Infosys:

Infosys is one of the biggest Indian MNC founded 36 years ago with work force of almost 2 lakh people across the globe. Infosys is an IT service, consulting and outsourcing company which means say ICICI bank wants to upgrade its credit card technology it contacts Infosys and company is responsible to code, integrate and modify the system.

In india itself Infosys has 10s of campuses -Gurugram, Hyderabad, U.P, Telangana ,Odisha, Karnataka with headquarters in Bengaluru and infamous training institute at Mysuru.

Eligibility criteria:
60% in 10th & 12th
70% in Engineering(with no active backlogs)

Salary package:

3.25 lpa  for freshers and  4-5 lpa after 2-3 years of experience

2.Placement procedure:

Infosys placement consists of 2 rounds. 1st round is 95 minutes aptitude test whose result is declared the same day in the evening and the next day is technical and HR interview round for shortlisted students.

3.Aptitude test:

Its 95 minutes test with 3 sections and no negative marking.Since, it is an online test one section need to be completed before proceeding to the next one .

Section – 1 (Quantitative Ability)10 question, 35 minutes: Time consuming with moderate level of difficulty

Section – II (Analytical Ability)15 question, 25 minutes: Graphs questions, syllogism, data arrangement

Section – III (Verbal Ability) :40 question, 35minutes: 2 passage and other sentence correction etc

Cutoff: 65%(avg.)

Note: If a student clears aptitude test, its chances of getting selected is almost 90% .

4.Interview – Technical and HR round:

Technical round: Basic Technical question revolving around Data structures and Algorithms, DBMS, Operating System, Networking, OOPs concepts and a programming language of your choice

HR round: Interview filled with questions’ where do you see yourself after 10 yrs’ or ‘why should be hire you type of questions’
